Smallholder farmers’ adaptation to climate change and its potential contribution to UN’s sustainable development goals of zero hunger and no poverty

Climate change is likely to worsen poverty, and agriculture-dependent groups poorest countries are at the greatest risk. Farmers’ have begun developing implementing climate adaptations. This study investigates extent which adaptations by smallholder farmers potential contribute UN’s sustainable development goals of no poverty (SDG 1) zero hunger 2). To this end, measures impact such on food production using farm-level survey data from Nepal. We utilize a matching technique stochastic frontier model examine productivity efficiency farmers. Results reveal that group adopting exhibit higher levels technical in as compared non-adopters. It evident results policy makers should encourage farming households adaptations, enhance farmers’ agriculture, thereby contributing two United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) eradicating (SDG’s target indicators 2.3).
